A Long Time!

I have been wanting to update, but every time I think about catching up it seems impossible.  So I have decided that I am just going to start from now.  Monday we went on a boat ride with some friends and had a lot of fun.  The girls had never been on a boat before and it has been since I was single.  Abi and Brooke were the only ones who got in the water.  Lauren and Reagan were too scared.  Here are a few pictures...

Halloween

Halloween this year,
Abi wanted to be 'hit by a car'

Lauren was a blue M&M

Reagan was Dorothy from the wizard of OZ

Brooke was a unicorn.

Bug Pinning

Abi had an assignment in class to collect 15 insects and freeze them.  When the time came to pin them, the parents were invited to watch and help in the project.  Even though she made faces in the beginning, it turned out that she wasn't scared to touch most of the bugs and she helped her classmates also.

A visit from Uncle Jon and Aunt Janet

In September we got short notice that Davids brother Jon and his wife Janet would be coming and staying a night with us.  The girls had so much time playing.  It was nice to visit.  Family is wonderful!

Civil War Days

Abigail is in the MATS program and her class was in the Civil War Days here in Danville.  Her teacher made costumes for everyone and she got to play the part of a student in a classroom.  She looked so cute.

Surprise Sleepover!

We told the girls they could have a sleepover for their 8th birthday, but when Abi turned 8 I had just had Brooke and wasn't ready.  I decided to throw a surprise sleepover for her 9th birthday this year.  She was really surprised.  I made a flip flop ice cream cake with lemon custard and lemon pudding frosting (her favorite ice cream is lemon).  We decorated flip flops with water baloons and painted fingers and watched movies.  It was a fun time!

I love this one of her blowing out the candles.  And Lauren's happiness about it!

She really knows how to pose for pictures as she opens presents.  She did it with every one!

We painted all the girls nails.

The girls were so silly putting balloons up their shirts and saying that they were having babies.  I guess they are just pretending with what they see their moms doing.

Brooke's 1st Birthday!

I am so far behind.  I lost my camera for a couple months, but finally found it again.  Thankfully it was found before Brooke's birthday.  I can't believe that my baby is 1 already.  The party was the day before her birthday because I don't like to do parties on Sunday.  We had a bunch of friends over and grilled hot dogs and enjoyed watching her eat her cake.

She is still not walking, which is ok with me.  She can now stand up from the middle of the floor and maybe get a step or two, but she doesn't trust herself (and why do it when you can get your sisters to carry you).  At her 1 year visit she weighed 17 pounds 7 ounces.  I am grateful to have her in our family!
